Celebrating Dr. King and the women of the civil rights movement, past and present

On Friday, January 20, RISE San Diego will kick off our 2017 Inclusive Leadership Breakfast Series with a special celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., civil rights, and women leadership.In additional to the unsung, past women of the Civil Rights Movement we are honoring that day – Daisy Bates, Amelia Boynton, Septima Clark, Fannie Lou Hamer, Dorothy Height, Yuri Kochiyama, Diane Nash, and Jo Ann Robinson – the community will decide on the present-day women of the Civil Rights Movement we will honor. More information on how to nominate a local woman will be available soon.The event takes place from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the Joe & Vi Jacobs Center in southeastern San Diego. Seating is limited and tickets are $25 per person.
