The next conversation in our Inclusive Leadership Breakfast Series will focus on Raising Boys of Color: Helping our Boys and Young Men of Color Be Safe, Resilient, Successful, and Inclusive Leaders. It takes place on Friday, February 17 from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the Joe & Vi Jacobs Center in southeastern San Diego.Following too many years of deadly violence, mass incarceration, poor educational outcomes, and high unemployment for boys and young men of color, we cannot and must not continue in 2017 to sit idly by while our sons, nephews, and brothers are being devastated. After a highly contentious election season and a post-election era with an alarming rise in the number of hate incidents in our schools and communities, the fierce urgency of now has never been more important. Too many of us entrusted with raising boys of color are losing hope, feeling helpless, and are overwhelmed by this awesome responsibility in difficult times.Join this important conversation to better understand how you can improve the outcomes for boys and young men of color in San Diego – at school, at work, and throughout our society. Parents, educators, youth workers, and concerned community members are strongly encouraged to attend and participate. Our goal is for each of us to leave better informed, more committed, and well-prepared to stand up for and take meaningful actions together to greatly improve the quality of life for our boys and young men of color.

Seating is limited. Tickets are $25 per person. Please RSVP by purchasing your ticket today.
